Beginnings...
JamOnSunday is an East Midlands band playing original acoustic based funk, a melting pot of references drawn from different backgrounds and fused together. With a different approach for every song, the band is willing and able to experiment and refuses to be tied down by certain genres and rules. The band line up is: Naran (Vocals & acoustic guitar); Frank (Bass); Simon (Electric & Spanish guitar, didgeridoo) and George (Drums).

Naran and Frank met in 2002 and musically gelled straight away. Naran provided the songs, Frank provided intelligent bass lines, and for a number of months the two got together regularly for jamming sessions (usually on Sundays!). At the beginning of 2003, during a trip to Spain, Naran bought a flamenco guitar to add to his collection. Sitting on the terrace of the Gardenia Park Hotel, enjoying the blazing sun, blue sky and sangria, the idea of recording an album first came into his head…

The two started recording in May 2003. They lay down the skeleton of what was later to become their first album “Gardenia Park”. As time went on they picked up a couple of fellow musical travellers. JamOnSunday was born.

On the 6th March 2004, JamOnSunday celebrated the completion of their first album ‘Gardenia Park’ with a private party for friends and family.

Gardenia Park is available at Select A Disc and The Music Room shops in Nottingham, and also at Reveal Records in Derby.

JamOnSunday are currently working on a second album due for completion in 2009.
